Youth and Community Participation
Young people can play an active role in protecting and improving the environment. They can change their lifestyle and how it affects the environment. They can make their homes, schools and youth organizations more environmentally friendly by adopting environmentally friendly practices, recycling of different materials as well as preserving resources such as water and electricity. Engaging youth in environmental protection not only creates direct impact on changing youth behaviors and attitudes, but possibly influence their parents, relatives and families.
For us at Tbern Foundation environmental education is a major tool in our quest towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
Our process of education involves educating individuals and students on the dangers of environmental degradation, allowing individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. We at Tbern Foundation believes that environmental education teaches individuals how to weigh various sides of an issue through critical thinking and it enhances their own problem-solving and decision-making skills towards conserving the environment.
Our processes involve
- Awareness and sensitivity to the environment and environmental challenges
- Knowledge and understanding of the environment and environmental challenges
- Attitudes of concern for the environment and motivation to improve or
- Participation in activities that lead to the resolution of environmental challenges
